I have one record that says this picture was taken at the Priscilla Morgan Chase place July 6, 1916. Another record says it was taken July 6, 1915 at the time of Thomas William Morgan's funeral (Thomas William lived his last years with Priscilla). However, the snow on the ground makes me doubt very much that it was taken in July, therefore I cannot be sure of the exact date. On the back of the picture Julia Morgan Hanson has written that it was taken "At aunt Prisses house just before Ike died." Four of Thomas William and Ann Watkins Morgan's children are in this picture: Edward (Born 1843 in England), Priscilla (Born 1854 in England), William Thomas (Born 1856 in Utah), and Everal Hannah (Born 1862 in Utah). Susan Augusta Byington Wilbur Morgan (sitting, left) was the fourth wife of Thomas William Morgan and the mother of Ruth Wilbur Morgan. Ruth Wilbur Morgan married William Morgan late in his life (After James John Morgan died) but the marriage did not last very long. Issac Chase was Priscilla Morgan Chase's second husband. |

This wonderful old picture has grown on me as I have worked with it. The following is written on the back "This is a picture of the Morgan family & inlaws taken at aunt Prisses house just before Ike died. It been a long time ago." and is signed "Julia & ......." I can't make out the other person in the signature, although it looks like the word "frnchey." (I wonder if Aunt Julia called her husband, Rast Hanson, by the nickname "Frenchy?"). Great uncle Edward died in 1928, great aunt Priscilla died in 1926, Grandfather William died in 1946, and great aunt Everal Hannah died in 1941. |
